Don works at PwC as a Managing Director on the Private Equity Value Creation team in San Francisco. He is recognized as a leading practitioner in the private equity ecosystem and serves private equity clients in identifying and articulating risk that can kill momentum, and developing value creation plans both pragmatic and urgent.
Don holds strong relationships with portfolio company management teams, with which he focuses on genuine business improvement. Don and his teams drove returns of ~3X invested capital in those businesses in which he was substantially involved.
Before joining Strategy&, Don has spent 3 years as a General Partner (with ops value creation focus) with private equity firm Bridges Fund Management, a leader in the field of Social Impact Investing. Further, he gained significant experience at top-tier private equity firms as both an external advisor and as a GP (Operating) Partner. In these roles, Don has had board-level responsibility (including interim CEO assignments) for over 25 mid-market companies (most of which involved M&A integrations) across a range of industries. Prior to entering private equity, Don was a successful general manager and executive sales manager in technology companies ranging from large NYSE International Game Technology to a start-up venture he built with French technology company Gemplus.
Don holds a Bachelor in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of California.
